My husband and I are almost 16 years apart (he is older)
We have been married for 33 years and counting. He was and is my soul mate, and he is a young at heart type. So it evens out.
The age difference doesn't matter in longevity or compatibility. As in any marriage, it's the attitude, personality, and expectations of the individual people that count.
There are other practical considerations though. My friend's long term partner died last February. He was over 20 years older than her, and had been in declining health for several years. She took care of him during his illness, and now she is alone. He was 78, she is in her mid 50s . They had been together over 20 years. Of course, one doesn't know what will happen in life. Maybe the younger spouse will get hit by a bus, or something. But later life is something that age-difference couples should think about and discuss before that time arrives.

My husband's sister married someone that was ten years older than her. I think it lasted about ten years.
Ten years is a big age difference. They didn't have a lot in common.

Yes, I do.
Their marriage lasted for around 8 years.
I think the age difference finally caught up to them.

Actually yes, my uncle is 20 yrs older than my aunt and they have been together longer than I have been alive and I am in my 30's. (and still going strong.)
I think once you are a mature adult, age really doesn't matter. (Emphasis on mature!) If it didn't work it probably wouldn't work no matter what the age difference.

Yes I do, and no it did not. Eventually the young bride wanted to have that part of her youth that she never got to experience and her hubby just wanted to stay home.
That does not mean it wouldn't work for other people. Each couple has their own unique blend of background and personalities. You cannot gauge anyone's possible success or failure on the outcome of other relationships. It depends on how compatible they are and how well they communicate and understand each other. Among other things of course.
I wish the best of luck to whomever you are speaking of.

Well its not 15 years, but my mum and dad were 12 years apart. If he hadn't died I'm sure they would still be together, she still talks about his as her true love. They were together 13 years before he passed.
