I was never baptized as a Catholic, but I went to Catholic school for 3 years. I went to church every day, I learned about Catholicism and did the holy cross across my head and chest everyday after I prayed. So am I Catholic or not?

No. There are a lot of regulations required to be considered a Roman Catholic (RC) in good standing, but baptism is the ceremony which signifies entry into the sect. All, converts and those born to RC parents, are *required* to be baptized.

P.S. For those claiming that communion and confirmation are also required: not true, as those who are baptized are considered catholic by the church even prior to communion and confirmation. Communion and confirmation *are* expected, however, when the opportunity for such arrives. Nevertheless, a full adult, upon baptism, is considered a member of the church without having to participate in these additional "sacraments".

P.P.S. The pope has not abolished Limbo.

When I was in Catholic church school in the 1960s we were taught that one is not eligible to go to heaven unless they're baptized. The best you could hope for is Limbo. But that's old news, now the pope has abolished Limbo.

Catholic theology has always been a moving target. You probably should ask a priest if you want the latest revision.

Ask your priest for a real answer. Or you could just get baptized. I personally think catholics are insane. I went to public school, then went to a catholic school. Fun arguing with all of them, but they all seem insane to me.

Yes, you do.

But you may have been sufficiently instructed at an early age so that now you can't escape, and you'll feel compelled to go through with the whole shebang.

You're not a Catholic unless you've been confirmed. Best not bother though if I were you.
