Apparently some wives back in Mexico want their husbands deported, and by allowing then to stay we are in effect aiding them to be deadbeat dads.

I don't know if this is a genuine report, but the idea of it doesn't seem to be so far-fetched. There are many families in Mexico without the fathers there, sending money is no replacement for a fathers daily presence and guidance.

In addition there are many children in Mexico who have BOTH parents in the USA and have been left with other family members.

Illegals here aren't getting rich, America is expensive. Wouldn't it be better for the families if they were reunited, even if they remained poor?

Try reading that article fully, it makes allot of sense. Or are you trying to avoid sense?

Why am I not surprised to be called a racist for talking about the harm illegal immigration is causing.

I make a logical statement that you don't like and have nothing to refute it in a logical manner, so where do you go? Race card.

Neither sources are racist, they just believe that illegal immigration is harming both our countries.

In any case, read the articles and confront the issue please. Actually I prefer the second article as it discusses things on a larger scale while the first focuses on one village only.

Jazz-
I didn't say one bad thing about anyone, Mexican or otherwise. I'd like to discuss the implications of a social trend intelligently, but i don't spend all my time on this.

Illegal immigration is a valid concern of people from both countries. I know some people don't want things like this discussed as it interferes with their own agenda, but that's just tough luck.

We have entire families of Hispanics here in the US, this isn't about them. This is about people from Mexico coming into this country for profit and leaving wives and children behind for very long periods of time. So how can this be about race?

At worst this is about nationalism. (favoring the people of your own country over others)

Both Mexican and American families are harmed by illegal immigration. Illegal immigration only benefit the already super rich business owners who use illegal aliens as cheap labor...leaving the rest of us, the American taxpayers, with the cost of illegals' education, health care, etc. Illegals should stay in their own country and their family... and fix their corrupt govt.

I believe it, but I see a cultural change being a problem as well. Mexico is very family oriented. Americans, especially the poor seems to be less so. I've been reading reports that when deporting illegal, the illegal immigrants bring back bad happens, like thier attitudes of supporting their children. Both culture is not perfect in how they treat females, but the combination is worse, and I see a lot more single mothers in the Hispanic communites in LA, and I am afraid the deportation makes it even more acceptable in Mexico.

I'm sorry, but I do not agree. I don't believe it. I don't believe one word of it. The two links are trying to make it seem like women in Mexico actually want their husbands to return. Yet, in my opinion, to say that the wives of men living in the U.S. want they husbands to be deported is a little too dramatic. Yes, maybe SOME women do want their husbands back, but I doubt the vast majority do. While illegal immigrants aren't getting rich in the U.S. (like you said) they are at least supporting and giving their families a better and much more decent life than they could afford while they lived and worked in Mexico. Also, I think it's very unlikely that a woman who loves her husband and wants him back would say, "Deport my man!"

P.S. We mustn't forget that not all illegal immigrants are Mexican.

Yes, it would be better for Mexican families to stay together and work hard to fix their communities. They can do it.

No, it's not hurting Mexican families. My family, they are taking away our family lifestyle and my enjoyment with my child. I can't take her anywhere anymore because illegals have taken all the work on homes which I do.

They take the money from my family and give it to their families in Mexico. They build homes there and have nice things.

I used to do very well....work HARD...take my daughter to Disney every other year and amusement parks in the summer. No amusement parks this year. I ate hot dogs that were on sale for my one meal a day cause that's all I can afford and not even enough money for gas to take my kid to a park.

Now, who's family is getting hurt?

I am sorry. This is just too funny to me. While I am sure that there are families in Mexico that would prefer their men return, there are many, and, I would bet the majority that do not. They can live on what he makes and sends without which they may not be able to.

The reason that I find this ridiculous is that both sources are openly anti-immigration, and, as such any "research" that they do is obviously slanted. Any time any organization has something to gain from a poll turning out a certain way, the stats cant be trusted. Thank God for zogby.

And, the second link is apparently another "white supremacy site"

you may not be racist, but if someone like you spends all their time talking about Mexicans as if the issue (illegal immigration) is all about them, and you are basically looking for ways to make them look bad, then that sort of shows you want to discriminate but not actually do it. You ask this question as to have responders say negative comments on this Mexicans. that's not good.

You have supported your opinion well. Even a klansmen is allowed an opinion. They're CITIZENS after all--(some more twisted than others). But they speak ENGLISH.

The facts are: Instead of being poor in Mexico, they're poor in USA. Some freakin' tradeoff!

While the illegal criminal aliens in the US is sending money home to their families, they are also busy making babies and such here to gain himself anchor babies....

I agree with you saying that they all should be reunited back in their home countries. That would save us the cost of deporting them.
