Because the human mind can be programmed to accept any idea, no matter how completely absurd and irrational, as truth on a par with obvious, observable fact. I find that absolutely terrifying.

I've never once compared believing in God to believing the sun rising tomorrow...
Oh, and God's saved my life. Along with putting the sun there to begin with to be risen.

Yes, it's funny how that seems to be the most common example used when trying to make the old argument about everbody "having faith". Though I've heard James Randi use it in his own examples of the difference between faith based on evidence, and faith based on subjective "spiritual" experiences and dogma.

Well,
You got me there,
I gonna ask a similar question soon on Y/A,
In fact God has never done anything and he never will,
Even his books were written by humans like us,
Even today he does not speak for himself and religious people do that!

I heard Bill O ' Reilly make that exact argument to Richard Dawkins. He was so amazed at the question he couldn't answer it.

He can make it stop shining for the next 25 too. Hope I'm not around if that happens.
I think you're talking about faith, we have faith, take for granted, the things that are going to happen in everyday life.
