For those who would say the Bible is not the Word of God, or that the Bible contains numerous errors I would say this: Paul could say in 2nd Timothy 3:16, "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God." That's the Greek word, "theopneustos" meaning "God-Breathed." Every single word was given from God to 40 different men, and 2nd Peter 1:21 adds: "for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God." Now that was the Old Testament. The New Testament wasn't in existence when Paul used these verses. He was telling the churches in his letters what had happened in the past, but in John 16:12-13, Jesus talked about the coming of the New Testament. He says, "I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come."
That's the New Testamant. And we can say with John 17:17, "Your Word is Truth." Today, we have 66 books written by 40 different individuals on 3 continents covering a period of 1,500 years and there's not one mistake, regardless of what some of the critics say. They haven't studied God's Word enough to know the truth. Among the writers we had kings, poets, philosophers, prophets, scholars and fisherman. And I want you to know we have all of the Word of God today. Someone says, "Yes, but we don't have the original manuscripts" Who said so?
We have copies totalling 24,800. Now, how do we know that they're right? Well, if you take 20 items and you compare them and 19 state one thing and one doesn't, then the one is in error. We've got 24,800 manuscripts that exist today to compare one against another and we have another 80,000 quotations from the church fathers, enough to put the entire Bible together with the exception of 11 verses. Take the 80,000 quotations from the church fathers and the 24,800 manuscripts for a total of 104,800 and you have all of God's Word dozens and hundreds of times. This is so because God's Word is literally flawless. After computers have compared millions, or even billions, of letters in analyzing the 104,800 manuscripts the texts are basically flawless. So, don't listen to the critics. The Bible is the Word of the Living God!

God does not breathe because he has no lungs. If he was like us with lungs and a stomach, then he would have to eat and excavate his bowels. what would he use to clean himself? No there was no breathing my confused friend. Timothy was a delushional personality and had spells and hallucinations. But he could write and he wrote what he actually dreamed about. That should be obvious that he was a sick man.

Im pretty sure that God influenced the book, therefore the words were in a sense breathed by him. Everything that is recorded is just another version of something he already wrote, the life of his people. All of it CAN be used for teaching, and shaping character in Christ. For teaching about unconditional love and mercy.

King James say: "All scripture is given by inspiration of God."
Not God breathed. That is a big difference!
What does "God breathed" mean anyway?
Inspired by God means, The Spirit of God moved the writers
to speak God's word. But they had to interpret what the Spirit was saying. Through their sinful flesh. Such interpretation by man is always far less then exact! That is a FACT! Part of what God's word says, is." Where their are prophecies they shall fail, for we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that is perfect has come, that which is in part shall be done away." 1 Corth.13. 8-9
So I would say the Bible version your using is misleading!
The purist Word of God, we have; is the Words of Jesus. Only Jesus had the Spirit of God, "without measure."
All humans have sinned, and come short of the Glory of God.
Jesus was and is that Glory!

It proves that christians who ignore the holy scriptures that timothy knew from childhood (see verse 15) AKA the Tanakh, don't follow what their "new testament" says.

It is very valid. If all Scripture (i.e. the Word of God) is not God inspired, then it is not the truth and everything in it is a lie. "God forbid: yea let God be true, but every man a liar." (Romans 3:4a)

Proof of what?
The verse was never intended to prove anything. It simply states that certain passages of the Old Testament are useful.

All scripture is mad-made. There is no god to 'breathe' anything. I never read Timothy, so I have no idea what he said. But remember, Timothy, whoever he was, wrote it, not god. There is no god!

Proof of what? It proves nothing about the statement, itself, or the compendium of fairy tales in which it appears. In fact, it's not even a correct statement.
See "circular logic".
