People have different stomachs and different foods affect you differently. As a rule you should not run within 2 hours of eating. Some people need 4 hours. If I eat Mexican food the night before I am going to have problems the next morning.

How heavy is the food? I usually eat a Cliff bar/banana 30-60 minutes before practice but if it's anything heavier (steak, big sandwiches, etc) I would give it at least 2 hours to digest. There was a guy who ate this burrito before practice and he was chucking it all over the place. So I came up with this theory, if it has meat and sauces on it, eat it at least 2 hours before practice. If it's basic carby foods, then any time before practice is fine, as long as it's not too much.

I would wait perhaps a month. I also would consider your cat's new surroundings. Is it closer to a road or are you out in the country? We had moved 2 1/2 miles away to where we are now. I waited quite awhile with our cats and then I let them out supervised. One cat went spastic, did a few circles in the yard, figured his sence of direction and left. We found him back at the old homestead. We would haul him back and he would leave within a week or two and be back up there. It kept going on until one day no one ever saw him any more, so don't know if he was prey to a coyote or hit by a car. We never saw him again. I was told if you butter their toes, they wouldn't leave. Something to do with messing up the scent I guess. Anyway we have had more cats hit on the road since we moved. We now have a dog kennel on the side of our house with the top enclosed. They have a small tunnel to go to through the window to the kennel so they have their outside retreat area without harm coming to them. I also have their litter boxes out there so it keeps it cleaner in the house too.

There isn't an exact time and its different for all people but what should be doing is making sure you dont feel anything, you dont want to feel full like you just ate and you really dont want to be hungry, if you hit somewhere in the middle there your run will be at its best

Everyone is different, but to be safe I would eat an hour before running.

I was always told 30 minutes before exercising that you had to wait. This is to help you from getting sick, cramping, and also gives your food time to digest some before doing something vigerous.

Experiment with different times. When you find a duration where you don't throw up, that will answer your question. It is different for different people.
