I need it for a punch bowl for a seaside-themed babyshower. I would rather have it fresh, but sliced and frozen would be o.k.

Dairy Queen has fresh starfruit???? I doubt it. I'm looking for the exotic five-pointed FRUIT that looks like a melon.

It might be easier (and less expensive) to use kiwi and a star shaped cookie cutter.

However, starfruit has become very popular and I often see it at Albertson's, Ralph's, Safeway... etc. Also, if you live near an Asian market, such as Ranch 99, you'll have more luck there with availability and price.

the last I saw it was near the potatoes with nuts.

Bristol Farms for fresh ones. I've never heard of or seen them frozen or canned, sorry.

if you like in the bay rea try berkeley bowl or a farmers market. china town might have it too
