You may have fractured a rib, or it may be bruised. If you wanted to check you could go see a doctor. Either way, it just takes time to heal. You should take regular painkillers in the meantime.

You will be in pain for a while. I can't give you a definite time frame though.

Your ribs will heal. Have you seen a doctor? If you haven't, you might want to. A rib could be cracked or even fractured. This poses some danger as there is some risk of a pneumothorax (collapsed lung) if a rib is broken, shifts and punctures a lung.

If the ribs are only bruised or cracked, they will heal in due time. Until then, it will hurt to breathe, cough, sneeze, laugh, bend over or sit up.

If at any time you are having difficulty breathing, get your butt to an ER pronto. Your best bet would be to call an ambulance.

I hope you feel better. See a doctor as soon as you can to make sure there are no fractures. It's better to be safe.

EMT

In medicine (pulmonology), a pneumothorax, or collapsed lung, is a potential medical emergency caused by accumulation of air or gas in the pleural cavity, occurring as a result of disease or injury.[1]

The fall sounds as if you have broken or fractured one or more ribs. Hurting when breathing is an indication. You really should go have an x-ray to make sure it isn't something more serious that could end up causing pneumonia to set in your lungs.

As far as I know from my own fall, there is not anything you can do. Just be careful and give your ribs time to heal. Sounds like you could have a fractured rib, but still nothing but time will heal it. You should see a doctor to be sure somethin worse has not happened.

it will take time to heal, first you should get an x-ray to determine if there is a possible fracture, but non steroidal anti inflammatory over the counter drug could help, like Motrin or Alieve, rest as often as you can, and you could do ice for the first 48 hrs, followed by warm hot tub soaks.
other then that your doctor may have other treatments for you

Only time will cure! If you have not been to the Doctor, please go, you might have more serious damage, like a broken rib.
