How long does it take for your credit to resume good standing?

When you have paid off everything on the credit report completely? Will the items that were previously on collection disappear after awhile or not?

If they where in collection and listed as such 7 years from the last activity unless you where able to get in writing that upon paying the items they would be removed from said report withing 30 days. Sory to say this but last activity was the day you paid them off.
