I don't I think the whole idea of 666 meaning anything or being evil somehow is ridiculous, it's just a number, it also makes me mad when buildings will skip the 13th floor because of superstition, in some buildings the floors go from 12 to 14

In it's original form (Greek), it's actually code for the Emperor Nero, who is long gone.

In fact, in some ancient manuscripts, whoever transcribed them misspelled Nero's name (left off an accent or something), so the number comes out as 616. Check your Bible. At Revelation 13:18, there should be a footnote that says something like "Other ancient authorities read 'six hundred sixteen'."

I agree with ladybird. The number itself is not evil, however in the Bible the number 6 signifies imperfection, and in referring to Satan it is written 3 times, to emphasize the great degree of his unholiness.
