ok so . My father's grandfather was born and raised in afghanistan. he then moved to Pakistan and met my Fathers grandmother. the two of them had MY grandfather in pakistan and then from there my dad was born..in pakistan . but technically my dad has afghan in him . so does that make me part afghan ? my mother is also pakistani . You would be part afghani, part pakistani. You could more easily lump it into "of middle eastern descent" or something more vague if you chose to.
Our family traces its ancestry back more than 200 years, and past that it gets REALLY confusing!!

Doesn't matter where someone lives, depends on their specific heritage. So he could have been French and living in Afghanistan.... then you'd have been part French.
