All three of these religions follow the same God, and adhire to the same basic commandments etc - plus or minus one book.

Why can these religions accept the BIG similarities they have and forget about the petty things like - parables and lore?

I'm Catholic and I Love both Jews And Muslims (grandpa was Jewish, I respect what he believes) and Muslims, I love their amount of respect for God and Jesus. They're both OK in my book.

The problems are partly political and partly religious. The problem began long before the Holocaust when European Jews decided to take over the region of Palestine to establish a Jewish homeland, even though the Jewish population of Palestine at that time was less than 5%. They figured that if the Europeans could colonize continental America, they too should be able to succeed. The only problem was that there were too many Arabs living in that region. [It was no desert, as many Jews lead us to believe. If that weren't so, you would not have found so many Palestinian refugees living in Jordan and elsewhere].

Religion also played a role, and Christians of Europe supported the Zionist movement, while at the same decrying it in public so as not to offend Arabs that the British were trying to court in order to break the Ottoman Empire.

Because the State of Israel was imposed on Arabs because of Jewish-Christian religion and Jewish terrorism was used as one of the means of achieving that goal, it prompted radicalism among Muslims who saw it as a religious war. In retaliation, they started attacking Jews, who still resent it, feeling that no matter what Jews did to Palestinians, the Palestinians should not have hurt Jews or said anything bad about them.

The Israelis have taken a 'superiority' position. They want Arabs to give up and appease Jews, so Jews, out of the goodness of their heart, could do some good for Palestinians without giving up any territory. Palestinians reject that; Arab pride gets in the way, and they feel that they ought to be treated as equals. Arabs feel that instead of driving out the indigenous Arab population, something which has been well documented, the immigrant Jews should have lived as immigrants and assimilated themselves in the Middle Eastern culture. That would have allowed them to build social bridges and not be seen as occupiers or usurpers. Palestinians/Muslims who were able to defeat the Crusaders after many centuries of struggle feel that they can repeat that history.

One can say that religion combined with colonial arrogance of power, which still exists today, created an environment in which reconciliation was not possible. But this conflict may get settled much sooner. Palestinian population, even in Israel proper, is growing rapidly and eventually Israeli Jews will be surrounded by so many Arabs that the "Jewish" state will no longer be sustainable. There will be a South-Africa like situation, and Jews will have to give in. Most would realize that they could be better off in the US than in the Middle East where there are shortages of water and jobs. Then, I guess, there could be peace. The other option is that Jews kill all Arabs. But by then, Israel itself would have been destroyed, and it’s not going to serve any useful purpose.

So the only peaceful solution is that “Zionism" be neutralized and a one-state solution be worked upon in order to bring the parties closer, as merging of populations is inevitable because of numerous settlements, refusal of Hamas to divide the country, and Israel’s need for cheap Palestinian labor. Eventually there will be so many gates in the Fence that Israel has put up, that it would go away.

Jews are the chosen people who don't like that Christians are saved by God's grace, and are at battle w/ muslims for the holy land, and christians don't like muslims/jews because they say that Jesus wasn't the messiah. and muslims well...
Everyone has the truth and everyone else is wrong, isn't how that goes?

Groups of people are known for mass hysteria, rioting, and lynching etc. a Person however is more tollerant and kind. So you can't really group everyone blahblah...

Because a certain kind of person needs somebody to hate.

Even in a religion whose mainstay is the command to "Love one another," these people find reasons to hate and label fellow human beings as "others." They use these petty differences as excuses to hate: terminology, bible versions, favorite translations of sacred literature, whether you should worship on Saturday or Sunday, faith vs. works, the pope vs. Brother Joe-Bob, etc.

They're all just phoney reasons to say "Those people are wrong infidels, which makes ME the right believer and God's favorite. So there."

Childish, huh?

Some, probably most, of us do get along. But all of us have sub-groups on the fringes trying to ruin things for everyone.

I'm sorry, but this is a huge misconception that I'm sad that most of my generation is starting to believe... Alah, and God are NOT... I REPEAT NOT!!!!!!! the same thing.

Jews and Christians do get along... sort of... but we do follow the same God.. the only difference is Jews don't believe that Jesus Christ was the messiah.. and Christians do... so it causes some issues.

YHWH is NOT allah.
There is nothing similar with YHWH and allah. One is God (YHWH) and the other is a false god.(allah) If they were the same, why would God tell His own people to kill His own people?? YOU ARE DECEIVED, and so is everyone else who thinks the muslim god is the one True God.
