These days the state of tax, insurance and MOT are on the National computer. They don't need to see the vehicle to know, so if any report goes in from a traffic warden doing routine checks or someone runs into it, you will be cooked.
PS
If someone steals it and gets hurt in a crash, they will probably be able to sue you for letting them drive an un-insured car. (Ha Ha)

yes. The police can prosecute you for having the vehicle on the public highway without insurance provided it is capable of being driven. If you dont plan to use it take the wheels off or something like that

if the car is uninsured and the police are made aware the vehicle is uninsured the vehicle is liable to be removed, tax or no tax. but in practice I would think highly unlikely. it would all depend on the mood the copper was in.

Not unless it is driven or the tax runs out. I do not think you can legitimately fill in a SWORN whilst it is on the public highway when the tax does run out

Most police officers will note the make/model/location of apparently abandoned vehicles and have them towed after a period of time.
This is in deference to those folks whose cars broke down or ran out of fuel. It gives them a chance to arrange for a tow or fuel before the law takes the car.

If it comes to attention they will. Sometimes it can come to attention during a routine check, you don't have to be doing anything visibly wrong. All insurance data is on a central database and can be checked in in seconds there and then.
It's more than technically illegal, it's viewed as a serious offence and you can lose your car, wind up in court etc.

There is a database kept of which vehicles are insured and which are not. Drive around Liverpool with no insurance and you will most likely be followed, PNCd, pulled over, and dispossessed of your car.
