if I don't know what the pain is I investigate what my problem is and how to take care of it. I telephone a doctor and have them check me out If I can't figure it out for myself.

I take pain medication, codeine, anti inflammatory medication and muscle relaxants. Those are the drugs that help me the most when the pain is really bad.

I get a deep tissue massage to help relax my muscles and calm down my stress.

To take my mind off of the pain I will listen to music, watch a comedy on television, or answer questions here at yahoo answers.

If you have any further questions please let me know.

Best wishes,

I know that this will not help you at all, but I felt that I'd share it with you. Unfortunately I have a very high tolerance to pain medication. (which is a BAD thing) I have a back problem that can come and go called "sciatica" and if it acts up I feel like I'd hurt less with a bullet in my head! That's how bad it can be. The worse part is (like I said above) pain meds don't help. The doctors pump pain meds right into my thigh and it just hurts more. Oxycontin don't even do anything for me. I wanted them to give me morphine, but they refused...thought I was a junkie I guess?! I had to suffer in the hospital for six days until it finally eased up enough so they let me go home.
Thanks for nothin' doc!

I deal with chronic severe pain everyday. What I do is first I take a hot bath and soak for a while. I use my massage & heat chair, my TENS unit, put on heat rub, take a pain pill & a muscle relaxor. Those are all the things I do when I'm in pain. Nothing totally kills the pain for me, but most of the above make it more manageable. Good Luck.
