My fiance' will be coming home from his deployment and I'd like to cook a nice dinner for him. Does anyone know of a great, easy recipe? Something you have personally tried and really enjoyed. I'm not really looking for a link just an answer based on personal experience. I live in a small town so if it calls for anything that I can't find at a Wal-Mart grocery store it could be difficult. He is a Marine and will eat anything! =) Thanks.

This one is delicious - and easy!

Grilled Raspberry Chicken

• 6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
• 1/2 cup frozen raspberries, thawed
• 1 cup raspberry vinaigrette
• 1/4 cup raspberry vodka (optional) - I used
• 1/4 cup finely chopped mint leaves (optional) - I didn't use
• Fresh mint sprigs, for garnish (optional) - I didn't use
• Fresh raspberries, for garnish (optional) - I used

Rinse chicken breasts and pat dry with paper towels. Place chicken in a large zip-top bag. Add raspberries, vinaigrette, vodka (if using) and chopped mint. Squeeze air out and seal bag. Gently massage the bag to mash raspberries. Marinate in the refrigerator for 1 to 4 hours.

Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Place chicken breasts on the grill and cook for 4 to 6 minutes per side. Remove from grill and place on serving platter. Garnish with fresh mint sprigs and fresh raspberries if so desired.

Beef olives!

You need to buy some minced beef and thinly cut steak. Roll the minced beef into a sausage shape and wrap the steak around it. Wrap in foil and put in the oven medium heat for 45 minutes.

The all you need to do is make a gravy and add loads of onions.

Serve with mash potato or chunky fries.

feed your Marine a nice TBone steak or a Rib eye steak. Broil it 10 minutes per side. Salad goes really nice with this.

KISS = keep it simple, sally

He has probably really missed things like this while he was over there. And you don't want to go to a lot of trouble. But have it nice!

spicy garlic lime chicken with pasta garlic and peppers

(simple and all things can be found at walmart)

The chicken:

1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 teaspoons garlic powder
3 1/2 tablespoons lime juice

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, cayenne, paprika, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, onion powder, thyme and parsley. Sprinkle spice mixture generously on both sides of chicken breasts.
Heat butter and olive oil in a large heavy skillet over medium heat. Saute chicken until golden brown, about 6 minutes on each side. Sprinkle with 2 teaspoons garlic powder and lime juice. Cook 5 minutes, stirring frequently to coat evenly with sauce.

Pasta:

1 red bell pepper
1 yellow or organe bell pepper
3 to 4 cloves garlic
2 tablespoons olive oil
Grated Parmesan Cheese (fresh if possible)
Favorite Pasta noddles (angel hair works great)

Chop up the bell peppers into about 1 inch pieces. Dice the garlic. Heat olive oil in small sauce pan on stove over medium heat. Add peppers and garlic. Stir often. Cook until soften.

Boil the water for your Pasta, being sure to salt the water. Add pasta and cook. When done save about 1/3 cup of the water, then drain well.
Pour Pasta into serving dish, Mix in peppers and garlic mixture along with the pasta water. Mix in about 1/4 cup of cheese. .

Serve with garlic bread.

This is quick easy and delicous.

After military food anything will taste great.
Most men prefer red meat, perhaps a good steak.
Baked potatoes are great, loaded with cheese, onion, bacon, etc.
Corn is in season, or a nice salad of mixed greens.
