purchasing a vehicle out of state in pa from a private seller. I need to get the vehicle up in NYS where i live but cant drive since it wouldnt be registered and have plates? any ideas? is towing the vehicle my only option??

With the title signed over to you, you may be able to get a PA temp tag. Check out PA's DMV website and see if the temps are available to an out of state individual.

get a bill of sale and drive it home and then register in nys ... or call the highway cops and see what your options are and what is required and what legal papers are necessary to transfer the title from outs yo state to nys....----------if you do not ask the vehicle dep't to tell you what is needed to trans title then you could be going back to the seller and that sounds like a real hassle .... call'em it doesn't cost to get correct info ........
