Decide what is important to you. If your relationship with God is truly important to you (and it will be if it's real), then you should be willing to put some work into it, regardless of how you feel. It's not about how you feel; you probably don't always "feel" like you love your parents or your little brother, but that doesn't mean you love them any less. It's the same way with your relationship with God. The trick is to make time for Him, even when you don't feel like it. Take the time to pray and to study the Bible, and commit to following His leading in all areas of your life. You will grow closer to Him, which is a wonderful thing.
As for the music, those kinds of music are not necessarily wrong or bad. However, if they are pulling you away from God, you should probably consider listening to something else. You can generally find Christian music in any genre, so check out your local Christian bookstore, or search online. There's also lots of secular music that isn't bad; just pay attention to the lyrics you're listening to and make a decision to only listen to those that will build you up, not tear you down.
God loves you and values you more than you can imagine, and it doesn't matter what you listen to, how old you are, or what you feel towards Him. I suggest you commit to really seeking Him and just wait and see what happens!

You're 14, its called hormones. Very normal for 14 year olds to rebel, we all do it. I'm way past that stage, and I still love classic rock, the Stones, Jethro Tull, Zeppelin, etc., it doesn't make me less christian, I just like that type of music. Music doesn't make you rebel, being 14 does that without any need for music. Music simply brings emotions out. Ever sense rock started, people have been calling it evil, blaming the music for teen rebellion, its ludicrous. The feelings of rebellion are coming from hormones, not what music you listen to. At your age, its normal to feel frightened by the changes going on in your body and your mind. Just try to understand that its biological, and try to deal with it as best you can. Good luck and God bless.

Hey I'm with you..I love classic rock. Some Christians might tell you that rock music is satanic or whatever..and some of it is. Not all though. If you enjoy rock, but some of it is causing you to turn from God a little then take that kind of rock out of your life.
I love Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, & Guns 'n Roses. Of course, not every song by those bands are appropriate so I don't listen to those songs. It's about having good judgment. You have to know what is good and what's not.

You are already fabulous. Now rise to it. I believe in being the best you can be, but you have to decide what that means. You are at a very important age when you are deciding about your spirituality. You have to decide what kind of person you want to be then take action to be that person. Make sure you choose it and that it doesn't choose you. It takes determined and protracted will, maybe like nothing you ever tasted before, in this world to be who you choose to be, not what peers or any others try and make you be.

Every kid in the world goes through this. I listened to heavy metal too. It didn't affect my belief in God, however. Music is just music, nothing more. Are you going to model your life around it? That would be foolishness.

Been there, where you are.
I started by fasting from any music that wasn't classical or gospel. First it was for just a day, then a week, then a month, and then two months. I noticed a big difference between the time I wasn't listening to it and the time I was. After not listening to it for two months straight I lost the desire to have it with me.

"Feelings" are not anything to follow. "Feelings" will change all your life and sometimes from day to day.
If you were allergic to a certain food and it made you very sick every time you ate it.....would you continue to eat it just because it taste good while you were eating it?
Yet, this is what you are doing with the music. You have to decide whether the "sickness" you feel is worth the pleasure you are seeking in the music.

It seems to me you have already decided the music is partly to blame for your attitude, and that part of it is your own growing up. That seems to be a pretty mature attitude.
I think maybe you just need to spend less time listening to it and maybe more time doing something else such as with a hobby or sport.
