I have always thought of the "meek" as people who have the same spirit of the Amish.
How more meek can you get?
Not to say that only the Amish will inherit it, but that would be my description of a "meek" society.

Hi,
The meek have an inner light that glows and gives off warmth but not in an ostentatious way. There is a humility and modesty in the meek as opposed to arrogance. An understanding within of our relationship with God and our place within the Universe. The meek are calm in temperament. They have a quietness of heart. A serenity that glows from inside.

The meek are those who humble submit to God's will.

Notice Ps 37:9-11 and Prov 2:21, 22.

Most 'Christian' religions teach that the earth is going to be destroyed.

So what are they going to inherit?

The bible teaches that the vast majority of mankind are resurrected to life on the earth and not to heaven.

Have you ever seen a movie where the good guy has the bad guy on the ground, holding a gun or a knife on him.? Justice cries out that the good guy go ahead and kill his opponent, but instead, the good guy puts away the weapon and lets the bad guy live. That is the definition of meek as it used to be when this verse was written. To be able to take revenge but not to because of a higher principle.
Jesus was the epitome of 'meek'.

Being meek is being humbled in this way also,in that, you have the authority to do something and the power too, but you choose to be humble and not do it. Christ was meek, he could call down fire on his enemies if he wanted, but in his humility he did not, that is what being meek is all about
