Go to a supermarket and go to the lotions aisle. Find either a brown bottle that says, "Vasaline Intensive Care: Cocoa Butter... Deep Conditioning Rich Hydrating Lotion" (which smells really good!) or a purple bottle from the Olay Body collection that says, "Quench Body Lotion for Extra Dry Skin with Shea Butter" Use daily for best results, especially on areas like hands, feet, elbows, etc. I use both about 4 or 5 times a week (usually right after bathing so your clean skin can replace lost moisture...) Good luck!

okay my little brother has the same problem this is what you do.
1. when you get out of the shower immidiatly apply vasaline/petroleum jelly don't wipe away the water just apply the vasaline it seals in the water and lets your skin drink up the water. Its gonna feel icky at first but it helps trust.
2. After about 2 hours depending on how dry your skin is the vasaline is going to start disapeering once that starts happening just apply a thick hydrating lotion like MaryKay Hydrating Lotion. Do not apply more vasaline it will prevent your skin from breathing.
3.Repeat this everyday after about 2 days your skin will start feeling Really really Moist and nice.

Know the causes of dry skin. The condition may be caused by a poor diet deficient in vitamins A and B, winter weather, cosmetics and harsh soaps. Skin ailments like dermatitis and psoriasis can also lead to dry skin.
Scrub the exfoliating cleanser over your skin using your sponge, gloves or loofah; make circular motions.
Be gentle over sensitive parts of the body.
Follow up with a good moisturizer. Remember that exfoliating makes your already dry skin drier. Choose a lotion with alpha- or beta-hydroxy acids, or any favorite moisturizer made for dry skin.
Apply aloe vera. Aloe vera gets rid of dead skin cells and can be soothing for dry skin. Use it on the areas that need relief.
Try tea tree oil. In addition to being moisturizing, tea tree oil has antiseptic properties. Apply it to affected areas.
Guzzle some evening primrose oil. Taken internally, evening primrose oil can help moisturize and rejuvenate dry skin. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for use.
Find the beauty in flax seed oil. When consumed daily, unrefined flax-seed oil can help conquer dryness and promote a lustrous complexion. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for use.
