It does not take very long to get a warrant issued. The police only need to convince a judge. They have a form they fill out so the paperwork does not take very long.

On the other side of the coin, it is extremely rare for the police to warn people that they are going to search their homes. Sort of ruins the element of surprise and allows the person to destroy evidence.
