Hows inwood?
If I am going on the subway from Inwood to Midtown, is it safe when the subway stops in Harlem area?

Yes - the mailing address is still New York, NY. The subway is very safe during the day. I wouldn't be as comfortable after say 11PM.

New York, NY, 10034.

I ride the subway at all hours and have no problems. Just don't look at people. The A train passes through the safer sections of Harlem and Washington Heights so it is rather safe at all reasonable hours. Harlem really isn't that bad. In fact, it's starting to get more expensive than Inwood...

Yes, NY, NY. Inwood includes all of the 10034 postal ZIP code, and a portion of 10040. As far as subway stops through Harlem, just use common sense. Don't take the subways when the stations are empty, 2 a.m., and you'll be okay.
