I pretty much have my 2 yr old daughter potty trained. The only problem is, she still wets the bed at night. Any advice on what I can do to help her with this?

I see a lot of suggestions for a night time diaper or pull up. She freaks out when I even try to put one on her. She just will not allow it anymore. SO that idea just wont work.

FYI...she kind of potty trained herself...she got it in her head that she wanted to wear panties..then just kind of watched me & her older brother use the restroom & got it on her own.....

Limit drinks before bed, no fizzy pop. Make sure she goes to the toilet before bed too. That is normal. You have done brilliant by having her trained at that age. It could take a year or so for her to be able to wake up at night.

Lots and lots of children are dry during the daytime for ages before they're dry at night. Just put the nappy back on at bedtime. At two, you're years from this being an issue.
If she's still doing it at, oh, three and a half, you could try what I did. my daughter decided she didn't want to wear the nappy at night any more, so what we did was take all her bottom layer off - no pajama bottoms, no underwear, no pullups, nothing. I'd never ever taken a dry nappy off her in the morning, but she never once wet the bed without clothes on her bottom half. I've never seen this suggested, but it had worked for ordinary potty training too - I'd noticed she never peed by accident if she was running round with no clothes on, but did it all the time if I put her in knickers!

i used pull ups for my daughter at night and i didnt give her anything to drink an hour before bed time and had her go potty before bed time. This usually worked and after about a month of doing this she started having dry nights and she hated the pull ups so this just encouraged her even more.

Don't worry about it. My son wore a night time diaper until he was 3 and have lots of friends whose kids were even older. Their little bladders just can't go that many hours. Put a pull up or diaper on her at night so she is not set up for failure.
If you do not want to use a diaper at night, I would stop all liquids 2 hours prior to bed time.

Congrats on having a two year old potty-trained! You'll see tons of questions here from parents of much older toddlers still struggling with it, so count yourself lucky.
I don't think a two-year old should be expected to control her bladder all night. Pull-ups are the perfect solution until she does. Don't sweat it. My son is almost three and has dry pull-ups 99% in the morning, but that 1% is worth keeping them on him at night.

Number one, don't make an issue out of it. It might happen from time to time. Better to go to her, before she heads off to bed, hold off on drinks or sugar, makes kids go. Get up again with her at midnight, and again at 3 and 6, make her go to the potty. She will get the idea to do this on her own, once you establish a pattern. Mom, its hard the first two weeks, wont lie to you. You will be sleep deprived, but after that, it will become a normal thing for her to do on her own. Then once she gets the hang of it, reward her. Have a mommy and baby or toddler afternoon, take her to tea. Praise her. She will see if she does this well, she will get a small reward. It worked with ours.

Two ideas
1. Set an alarm that wakes her mind way through the night to go potty. After a week or so it will become second nature and after a bit longer the alarm won;t be nessessary.
2. Get training pants she can wear at night that make her feel "cold/wet" so that it wakes her.

pull ups. your babys body isnt mature enough to stay dry over night yet. theres nothing you can do but keep her in a night time diaper or pull up til she out grows it and she will some kids by age 4-6 others at the onset of puberty both are normal a doctor will tell you not to worry until at the youngest age 8
my son is four and still wears a night time pull up,
the muscles that control the bladders holding function arent working yet. they will in time. her body is ok during the day because she is awake at night she sleeps to deeply and the muscles arent ready to hold yet. its normal theres nothing you can do but either wash sheets every day and buy new mattresses every other month or use pull ups
pull ups are way cheaper

check with your doctor. when i was a child i used to wet the bed all the time. not sure what they have out there, but my mom got a bed pad alarm for me so that when ever wetness hit the pad, an alarm would go off so that i would get up an use the bathroom. or she could have something wrong medically wrong.
also, you could try not giving her anything to drink after a specific time at night and making sure that she goes before bed.

What i did when my son was potty training. I wouldn't give me son anything to drink hour before he goes to bed. And he never peed during the night or anything. You can try that if you want to. But if you think you might want to try I see huggies now have nightime pull up she could wear during the night. Think it for while and pick the best choice for you and your child.
