You should be able to call the NJ department of motor vehicles to request a copy of your title. Or, maybe the FL Secretary of State's office can put in a request and also transfer your plates at the same time.

Go to the department of revenue, license bureau or whatever it's called in your state and talk to them. They should be able to get you a copy, for a fee of course. In Missouri it's $8 for one registered in state, although yours could be more since they'd have to go through another state. You will need personal identification and other proof of ownership such as previous licensing documentation, safety inspections, etc. because they don't hand out titles to any smuck that walks in off the street.
