I used to be a reservations person for a cruise line and hres what you need to know. If you need to cancel and reschedule do it as quick as possible. Most cruise lines have a cut off date in which cancellation fees will start to apply. For Princess its 75 days, Holland America is 60 and I believe Carnival is like 60 as well... So depending on when your cruise is will determine your cancellation fees. Be aware that the closer to date you cancel, the higher your cancellation percentage become. (i.e. 75 days is just the deposit, 40 days is 50%, 30 or less is 75% etc). Just pick up the phone and call the cruise line number and ask to speak with a reservations agent, give them your confirmation/booking number and have them cancel it. usually if your REALLY nice, and explain the situation, they will try and help you with getting fees waived if you have accrued any. The only really big warning I have to give you, is that if you booked on a FLASH promotion, which means a short period sale on the cabin, your money MAY be non refundable. But you wont know anything until you call. Its the easiest way to do it. And if they say they can't help with any fees, ask for customer relations or a supervisor. They are the ones with the real power.
p.s. if you booked through a travel agent, they have to call to cancel the booking. Its the policy of 99% of cruise lines, the direct passenger cannot handle any financial or cancellations on the booking. The T.A. has to. Sorry.

Contact either your travel agent, or the cruiseline you booked with. If you have not made your final payment, then NO there are no cancellation of rebooking fees. If you booked with an online agency, then go back to their website and read up on cancellation and rebooking fees.
If you have already made final payment, then you are in penalty with the cruiseline and it depends on when the cruise is scheduled to leave.
Sometimes if there is a good reason a good TA can help you get the booking rescheduled to a later date and fees can be waived. Again, it all depends on how far out the cruise is and if you are in the penalty stages.
Good luck!

Call the agent you booked with. If you haven't reached your final payment date you can usually reschedule or cancel without penalty from the cruise line. However the agent you dealt with may charge a cancellation or rebooking fee.

I had a cruise I booked through Carnival once, and I had to reschedule five times before we got it settled. It did not cost me anything because I had not reached the final payment date. They were glad to do it, as long as I did not cancel.

You should call up the website or travel agent or cruiseline that you booked the cruise with. You are definitely going to loose money, it depends how far in advance you booked it.

if you have not reached Final payment date, you can usually re-schedule. Call the Travel Agent(or cruiseline if you didn't use a travel agent) and they can help you from there. Good luck. and congrats on your engagement.
