Well, how old are you?
Tell them you want to be treated more like an adult, and in exchange, you want more responsibilities to prove you're mature enough to be treated like an adult :)
You can't be treated like an adult if you act like a child. So, set up some chores/responsibilities to prove yourself.
If you're old enough to have a job (outside the home) you're prolly old enough not to be spanked anymore.
If you're old enough to drive, then paying for your own car ins, or part of the payments (if applicable) is an appropriate responsibility to earn the priviledge of being treated more as an adult.

Before you tell them to start treating you like an adult, first figure out what you mean. If all you meant was no more spanking, then come up with an alternative form of punishment. Like doing yard work or cleaning the garage. Or doing dishes for a week. For free.

If you tell them you want to be treated like an adult, you'll have to pay rent, utilities, take the bus by yourself, make money by working for a senior citizen with house chores, no more allowances from your parents, spend some of your money to buy good Christmas gifts for your mom, dad, and other family members (adults on average spend about $500+), clean your room, and walk the dog.

Be careful what you wish for because you might just get it. lol.

Tell them that u dont want to be spanked anymore...tell them how it makes you feel and suggest that you all think of another way to deal with situations eg: have TV taken out your room, grounded, no pocket money etc.

Act and talk to them as an adult and you have a bertter chance of being treated like one...go in kicking and screaming and they wont take you seriously.

Just simply reply to them that you realize you are their daughter but you are not a little girl anymore. You are all grown up and would like to be treated that way. Make sure you tell them that you love them and appreciate that they obviously still worry but you can handle yourself. SOme parents just can't let go and you getting married is probably scary for them. LIke they are losing a part of you. Just emphasize you are GROWN and to let you make your own path in the journey of life!

You can't tell them much of anything. You have to show them.By acting more mature. That means u have to do your chores, and do what u tell them your going to do.Be home when u say u will all that nerdy stuff. As for the spanking..That I don't agree with. You could sit down with them calmy and tell them that u think your to old to be spanked. That u would learn better if they would find another way of punishment besides physical pain.Good luck hon

Try to understand what you are doing to make them act this way.
Talk to them and ask how they want you to act. They love you and just want you to learn what is and what is not acceptable.

Ask if you can all just talk for 5 minutes. NO stamping your feet and screaming, stay calm and make your point. Remember, if you act like an 8 year old you will not be treated like a 16 year old. Good luck.

Hi,

Well by now they should stop smacking you but maybe they doing it when they believe you misbehaving - so maybe try and act more responsible so you get treated like an adult and respect your parents.

However tell them that the smacking needs to stop as it not right and that if they feel you disrespecful then you rather it was discussed as a family instead of the spanking.

Good luck!
