definetly...your total body weight really has no significance on your 1 repetition maximum. increasing strength is all about training and dedication. benching 2x the total bodyweight really isn't that difficult for a person that is dedicated to the sport. you need to look into some bench routines like MM2K or check out power lifting websites like Metal Militia or Westside Barbell. a good read would be any book on Periodization by Tudor Bompa

My father weighed 205 and benched 475. I weighed 225 and benched 415. So yes.

yes....indicators of good strength are as follows

squat 3.5 times your bodyweight
deadlift 4 times your bodyweight
bench 2.5 times your bodyweight
shoulder press 1.5 times your bodyweight

all of which have had eople do them
