I would never sentence someone to eternal torture for petty misdemeanors. It's even more unjust if they had no understanding of how what they did was wrong.

I don't think I would even inflict eternal torture on a serious felon. If I had the power, I would simply erase them from existence.

I agree with you.
Even if the State gave you the power to torture someone who'd viciously murdered one of your loved ones, you'd quickly sicken of the whole thing and realize you were becoming a monster too.
The very idea is sick and bizarre.

I doubt the very much. If anyone annoyed you or hurt you I'm sure you'd go with a revengeful heart and 'simply erase them from existence' as you said. That's not very fair. Your point of view would change if you were on the recieveing end of this 'petty misdemeanor'.

What makes you think that God would send someone to Hell for "petty misdemeanors" - especially if that someone didn't understand that it was wrong?

Well, then, since we are made in God's image (physical and spiritual) doesn't that make you want to re-evaluate your concept of hell?
Hell is the absence of God.
Hell is only eternal for Satan.
Those "doomed" to hell will be extinguished forever. Not burn in hell for forever.
They will be permanently dead.
So you see, God is merciful and compassionate.
As for sending someone to hell for not hearing of his word: God has created a future time when those who have not had the chance to hear his word-- to be able to hear and decide for themselves.

Your understanding of God is misconstruen.

Why don't you actually read up on who He really is and then post a question that has a purpose.

You actually don't have more compassion than God, I highly doubt you would sacrifice your son for us.

Shall the clay say to the potter, "Why have you made me thus?" The kindness of God is designed to lead you to turn from sin and turn in faith to Christ. Instead of taking the opportunity, you spurn it!

I'm a Baha'i. According to Baha'u'llah, it's not like you describe. Baha'u'llah explains that part of the purpose of physical existence is to develop spiritual capacity and virtues. This not only benefits us individually in this life but it benefits society and civilization as well by bringing us happiness and prosperity. Additionally, it prepares us for life after physical existence where only those virtues and spiritual capacities that we have developed allow us to function. Our evils are left here in this life. They cannot exist in the spiritual realm. Consider what this implies.

If we have developed no spiritual qualities, we cannot function in that spiritual life, much as a stone cannot function in this world when compared to a human.

Hmmmm... i smell ignorance. Are you sure you know what you are talking about? Maybe you should delete this question so nobody will see your ignorance, then come back after you have studied who God really is...

I'm only looking out for your best interest. :-)
