i overheard my younger sister talking to one of her friends on the phone (she is 16) she was talking about this guy she likes and wanted to know how to get his attention...then i heard her say well i wonder if i told him i am a virgin if he would want to hang out. my mouth dropped...ok so question first off do i say something to her....second if a girl (any age) came to you and in the middle of the conversation said she was a virgin what would you do. take advantage of it or respect it...i dont know how old this boy is, but it still scares me.

its not a huge issue its just this is my baby sister...it really scares me, i know what i was doing at her age LOL

I don't think it would make a difference if I liked someone whether they were virgin or not and at 16, I hope she is. I would sit with her and talk to her as an older sister yet listen to her because at that age, they know it all.
let her know that her sexual status shouldn't be something she throws out there and to just Be herself and if he likes her he will make a move

If you two are close then I think she would really respect your opinion and really appreciate the fact that you care about her. However, it's not common for sibling relationships to go as far as talking about sex. Maybe you would be better off just letting your parents know and take care of it, she doesn't have to know that your the one that overheard her conversation. But I think the fact that you care to that extent is really sweet.

Would be a good thing to talk to her if y'all have good relationship. More than likely she will YELL at you about listening in on her phone conversation, she may have only been kidding around when she aid that, who knows. I would have to respect a woman for telling me she was virgin but most guys would not.

This is hard but been a father my self I would hope that may kids would come till me this let your mom or dad deal with it She is to young to have sex and if this guy only wants her because he can bust her cherry then she need to find some one that wants her for her because after hes done busting the cherry he'll problem leave her so good luck

She was probably just kidding around. Maybe the guys is pretty religeous and she wanted to impress him.
Anyway, if you want to give her advice, tell her that talking that directly and boldly is a turn off. She is showing no discretion and it make her actually look slutty.

You are her older sister.....just talk to her and give her advice and open yourself up to her to let her know that she can always come to you with questions.....the worst thing you can do is ignore it and act like she never said it.....just be there for her
