You do not have to be on your knees to pray. On your knees generally shows yielding honor and respect to God by humbling yourself, but I rarely pray on my knees. I pray many times during the day and try to stay in a spirit of prayer all day. If I slip and say something, that I know was wrong(I drive a lot), I ask for forgiveness right then. I generally pray on the way to work each day, and while on the way home.

You can pray anywhere and anytime. The Bible says to Pray without ceasing, which means to always be in communion with God. So you can pray sitting, standing, kneeling, driving, running, cleaning, walking, or any way you want. Kneeling or laying prone on the ground just shows more reverence because it is a humbling position to take. At times it is more appropriate to do this.

Jehovah does not require any specific position, either of the hands or of the whole body. The Bible teaches that it is acceptable to pray in a wide variety of positions. These include sitting, bowing, kneeling, and standing. (1 Chronicles 17:16; Nehemiah 8:6; Daniel 6:10; Mark 11:25) What is truly important is, not some special posture that can be seen by others, but the right heart attitude. In fact, during our daily activities or when we are faced with an emergency, we may offer a silent prayer wherever we are. Jehovah hears such prayers even though they may go completely unnoticed by those around us.

To pray driving is not advisable, it is dangerous. In shower you can sing songs, but it is not suitable place to pray. I think you dislike when people talk to you and clean their teeth with a match. If you get on your knees before God, it tells that you give all the glory to God and it testifies about high level of your faith. To get on the knees before God is not a shameful thing, but there is no need to do it before people whoever they are. We all are servants of God.

The task before us, is never as great as the power behind us.
You can pray silently, you can pray in your car.
prayer is communication with God, now to pray on your knees is an act of respect and submission, it is a symbol of surrendering all to God.
I prayed under my breath while serving in the Army, there where times i could not pray on my knees, especially during patrols

I don't know why a person has to get on their knees to pray. I pray anywhere and anytime that I want to. I have never prayed on my knees.

I'm sure you can pray in any state or form you like, but the act of getting on your knees to pray is to symbolize acceptance and acknowledgment of God's power and goodness and authority over your life and you seek his blessing through whatever prayer you conduct at the moment you kneel.

you don't just have to get on your knees to pray.... getting on knees to pray is just a sign of humility, however you can pray in humility while you're "driving in your car, or taking a shower, or taking a you know what" or anywhere you want to pray, just do it in humility.

You don't need to get down on your knees to pray, nor do you need to clasp your hands together or close your eyes. You can do it anywhere in any stance, whether that's standing, sitting, walking or lying down on your back. God just wants to hear from you, and doesn't care how you do it, as long a you do it.
