I'm always feeling vertigo. It's constant: I feel it all the time, even when my eyes are closed.
My vertigo gets especially bad when I read. As my eyes move across the text, I feel dizzy, and then I feel like the text is moving. It's very distracting. This constant vertigo is preventing me from enjoying one of my favorite hobbies: reading.
I've tried researching on the internet. Alas, it didn't help much: the only help I could find was written in medical jargon, so the average reader couldn't what it was talking about.
Does anyone know what I can do to get rid of the vertigo? or at least manage it so that it doesn't bother me so much?

It's possible you could have Meniere's Disease. Do you have any ringing of your ears, hearing loss, feeling of fullness or pressure in the ear? It can also signal other health problems, such as problems with the inner ear. There are medications for that. You should see your doctor. There is a good article about Meniere's Disease here:

Vertigo can be treated by a variety of medications and in some instances by a specific head maneuver usually preformed by a ENT doctor or physical therapist. As far as what you can do there is not much. There are a variety of causes of vertigo, some of them can be very serious, so you need to see a doctor.

often times vertigo is coming from the neck. chiropractors are specialists in this type of problem. I recommend you see a chiropractor as soon as possible. I used to suffer from vertigo and no longer have the problem because of chiropractic care. I've enclosed a link were you can find a chiropractor in your area.
For now place an ice pack on the back of your neck for fifteen minutes, several times a day. This should help.

You should see a doctor...you may have an inner ear infection, the most common cause of vertigo. However, there are some people that have chronic vertigo with no explanation...there are medications that your doctor can prescribe to help control your symptoms.

There are a number of causes of vertigo, none of which are diagnosable and treatable with home remedies or over the counter medicine.
From the history you give the first step is to get an eye exam and glasses if needed, however consultation with a phsyician, preferably a neurologist or internest is indicated to arrive at a definative diagnosis and address the problem.
This is not a treat it at home problem or solution.

To handle the symptoms until you find the cause, take Dramamine. I usually get Vertigo once a year for no apparent reason. I've been to the doctor and been checked out, and no cause is ever found. I just have to deal with it. I take Dramamine to handle the days when the symptoms are too much.
