Yes, it is a sin.

At the moment of conception an individual is created. This is a scientific term and fact. At that moment, that individual has it's own DNA. DNA that will never be repeated. DNA that will belong to that person and only that person forever.

Therefore, denying this individual his/her right to life is a sin. It is wrongful death. 99% of the abortions performed in this country are for convenience. People, for some reason, believe that it is normal and natural to have sex and not get pregnant. In fact, it's the other way around. When sex works the way it should...pregnancy occurs.

It is abnormal and unnatural to expect to not get pregnant.

If, before each sexual encounter, the parties involved discussed having a child and being parents, they might rethink the sexual encounter. Every sexual encounter should be considered with pregnancy as a possible consequence. As I said, when sex works as it should...you get a baby.

Making mistakes in your choices of sexual partners or timing should not victimize an innocent child. All of us had no say in our conception. We were just lucky enough to be born to parents who wanted us. So many babies are killed because no one wants them. Doctors work ferverishly to save small babies born too early for parents who want them...those same babies are killed without so much as a thought if parents don't want them.

The other feminist/pro-choice angle is that every child be a wanted child. Well, since the inception of Roe v Wade (almost 40 years) child abuse and neglect has increased, why? Why are there children in orphanages and foster care if all children are wanted now? The fact is that abortion has devalued life and devalued children.

Additionally, those children who have been born where they may not have been wanted or their mother can't afford to support them, are still human beings with rights. Your parent's financial status does not affect your value as a person does it? Is death always better than being poor? Some of the greatest people in our history have come from poor families or were adopted. Why is death a better option?

Women believe abortion to be a right the exercise over their own bodies. This is a lie. A woman's natural instinct is to protect her young, even to die for them. Contraception and abortion go against our natural instinct and cause untold and irreversible damage.

liquidshadow71 You need to stop spreading your lies twisting the words of the Bible and claiming that many Christian groups support abortion. First of all, those groups listed are Mormon and other non-Christian groups, what we Christians call occults. The first group is not an occult but they also do not support abortion like you say. From their website "As American Baptists we oppose abortion,as a means of avoiding responsibility for conception,as a primary means of birth control, without regard for the far-reaching consequences of the act." As far as the verses: Gen 2:7 is unrelated to the abortion issue because Adam was never a fetus and he was the first human so it would be impossible for him to come from a women's womb. Ex 21:22-25 states "If men struggle with each other and strike a woman with child so that she has a miscarriage, yet there is no further injury, he shall surely be fined as the woman’s husband may demand of him, and he shall pay as the judges decide. But if there is any further injury, then you shall appoint as a penalty life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise." THIS IS CLEARLY STATING THAT KILLING A FETUS IS MURDER. Ex 21:17, Deut 21:18-21, Num 15:32-35 are unrelated to abortion. Psalm 137:9 is talking about killing the enemy's infants, not fetuses. This was a prayer by someone, maybe David, which does not make it God's law. Isa 13:18 is the same thing going on. Finally, Gen 3:16 is the punishment for women for sinning. The punishment for men is in the immediately following verses. You seriously need to get your sources straight and from your post you obviously have never read the Bible. God is not going to choose to kill certain babies. It is part of man's sin that we live in an imperfect world.

I think it's a greater sin for a woman to bring a child into the world she does not want and cannot support. And for those of you who pound the adoption drum, how many of you have adopted?

However, I believe in preventing unwanted pregnancies so women don't have to have an abortion.

i dont think it is...if it is, it's like lying or fornication...the word "abortion" doesnt exist in th Bible nor is "killing a featus"...there's a story [forgot where] if a man makes a woman miscarry, the man has to pay a smnall fee but that's it. it didnt specify if the man did it on purpose or not, it jsut says if the man made a pregnant woman miscarry...everyone interprets things differently

I think it is murder, only God can see the heart and what caused a person to do so, on the flip side, I know there are so many ways to not get pregnant in the first place that abortions for cases of incest, rape and health should be in the hundreds, not 1,400,000 a year. That is not an accident.

taking the life of the innocent is a sin- and a baby is the most innocent of all, don't you agree. The baby has no defense against the person having/doing an abortion. TOTALLY SIN!! However, if there is someone out there that has had an abortion, and wants to know if it can be forgiven by the Cross of Christ. ABSOLUTELY- nothing is to big to be forgiven through HIM.

no. sins are a religious label. religion doesn't belong in such an issue. whether or not abortions are right or wrong is subjective.

I don't believe it's a 'sin' but I would hope it was a last resort.
