When you pass a military vet, do you proudly salute and shake their hand like I do, and say thank you for your service, or are you a liberal who sneers at them and says slanderous things to them or about them behind their back. I personally am proud of our troops, and I proudly shake their hand, say thank you, and yes, I even salute them. For all they do and go through, just so we can enjoy our freedom, they deserve at the very least that much from the rest of us. God Bless America, and God Bless Mr. and Mrs. American Soldier. For all they do and go through I is a shame that some people will spit at them and say slanderous things to them all in the name of "liberalism and free speech". All I gotta say is that if your gonna do that to a vet who fought for you and for your freedom anywhere near me, just give me fair warning first so I can reload my shotgun real quick. So, what is your stand in this, which do you do when you see an american soldier. Looking forward to you answers.

I happen to personally know a few vets, and I do thank them every chance I get, and at the local tavern, I've yet seen one buy their first few rounds, because everyone is too busy buying them a round or two as a token of thanks.

The treatment of Veterans is not a conservative or Liberal issue. Since people of all political spectrum's have served, there is generally a lot of respect for them. That being said, there are however some left wing anti war nuts who will jeer and spit, and you have my blessing to respond negatively to those ignorant people who would not have their rights to jeer, if it were not for the military.

I cant tell you how comforting it is to hear that their are people out their that know the true meaning of freedom and the price to get and keep it. I will support the soilders untill my dying day. My brother enlisted when the 9/11 attack happend of course i was scared for him but it make me look at my brother in a whole different way, my brother and all his fellow soilders are my true heros and i would proudly stand up against anyone who may not agree.

First of all i want to say thank you! Both my Husband and son are in the Army. My son is currently in Iraq. Its people like you that make us feel stronger and we appreciate that.
I personally do thank them also, not just that my family is in, but for what they have done also.
what burns me though is some day's i go out to places that have hugh signs hanging on the side of the buildings that say "we support our troops". Me and my husband always ask if they have a military discount? They say no, i don't mean to be smart but i look at them and ask then How do you support the troops? they look at me and say i don't know! Please take the signs down if you don't know how, that just burns me.
it's not the point of the discount, it's the point of they can't tell us how they support our men and women out there.

My husband & I always thank vets. Our oldest son is at the VA hospital going through the PTSD progam. There are Viet Nam Vets in the program that live to far to be able to go home for Labor Day or weekends. Ocassionally our son will bring one home for the weekend. My husband and I are going down there with ribs and all the fixings to cook out for them. All our past and present Vets deserve a heck of alot more than what they are getting.

I don't think is is always saying thank you verbally. Alot of thanks can show in actions. Thank you all Vets.

I support our troops and no it is not because my husband is in the military. I have always believed what our troops do is a job they decide to do. just like you and i have our jobs were we work 9-5. it is a job, theirs just entails going overseas and going against what some consider isnt really a job. you have to look at it like they are working a normal job. there is no draft so these people choose to do this. they have their reasons just like i have mine.

i support our troops and everything they do. i do pr for a non for profit nation wide organization that supports the mothers and family members of our troops. it is important to provide them with just as much support as we provide our troops. when my husband was deployed my car was egged, i was attacked verbal and emotionally at school and work for the career choice he made. so dont just shake the hand of the vet, shake the hand of his wife, husband, and family. without the supporting the troops, no one would.

Yes...even though I hate the war and feel that it is wrong, I 1,000 % definitely support our troops and the job that they are doing. I'm very glad that America has finally again become thankful to them. I have two people who are very dear to me who fought in Vietnam and it was terrible when they came home. You cannot begin to imagine the names that they were called...and guess what...they were drafted back then.

YES, I support the troops and their mission. I have done so as a brother in arms and as a guarddog in sheeps (civilian) clothing. I do so on a personal level and through membership in the VFW.

Thank you for supporting the troops.

Both my sons are in the military. One is in the Navy and the other is in the Army. The one in the Army is in Afghanistan. He was hurt recently, and his company commander was killed. I pray for all the service people in Iraq and Afghanistan to be able to come home soon and to be safe while they have to be there.
