thats a stupid question but i answered it before. sry but it is. Humans CAN NOT get fleas. if a cat or a dog or something has fleas they can get on you and bite you and it itches like craazy. but it isnt like a amimal. they dont land on u and lay eggs and stuff. they just bite u and leave. But on animals they stay on them and lay eggs and build nests in their fur. TRUST ME i have millions of animals and we have fleas. dont worry about them building or laying nests and eggs. just be ready to have little red bumps on you. also get some flea powder and put it on the cat or u can get flea Spray to. i wish u the best of luck
P.S get so itching cream for YOU. lol
bye! i wish u luck

Can you actually get fleas from a pet...well not really but that doesn't mean you cannot get bitten from the flea. A flea uses an animal as a host. They jump into the nice warm fur and start biting the animal to get blood which is the flea's food. They reproduce very quickly so this can become quite a problem if you don't take care of it immediately. In fact if an animal gets too many fleas it could die due to the blood loss. I have seen such sad cases more than once. Now for your question....a flea cannot live on the top of your skin because there really isn't any warmth there. It is very hard to hide as well. But what a flea can do is jump from the animal onto you and bit you and then jump back off you. Animals tend to scratch when they are being bitten so the fleas could end up living in the carpets or furniture of the owner. At that point you could become the host for the flea but it would never actually live on you. Chances are that the fleas will continue to live on her cat and you won't notice a think. Tell your aunt that she can bathe her cat in the Dawn Ultra Dish Soap to get ride of the fleas but she really should go and get some flea protection from the vet. The kind you put on the nap of the neck. If a product like that is used the fleas will die within 24-48 hrs.

People can't carry fleas around the way dogs and cats can. They just don't feel comfortable living on us. I suppose it's because we don't have any fur. However, when you live in a home that is infested by fleas, it doesn't matter if they're living directly ON you or not! They will still bite you. They like to jump all over the place and they will jump on you. They will also bite you. If there are enough of them, they will bite you all over your body.
If your aunt gives her cat a fleabath and puts flea powder on him, you shouldn't have a problem. I have a cat I dearly love and I don't want him suffering from flea infestation, so I do that with him. Somehow, despite never going outside, he still magically gets a couple of fleas. They never bother me, since they're too busy tormenting my cat. I doubt your aunt's cat will have so many fleas they will be a problem for you.

Unless you are covered in fur...then you cannot "get" fleas. Sure a flea can jump on you and bite you..but the flea will not stay on you and live on you like it will on an animal. You can pick up fleas when you are outside anywhere that an animal has walked and left fleas. Most fleas will stay on pets..unless your aunt has a terrible infestation of fleas in her house. I think there are more things in life to worry about than picking up a flea or two.

Fleas only live where they are warm, for example an animals fur. Fleas will jump on humans but it's not possible for them to live on you. However they will bite you and it hurts! Ask your aunt if she has the cat on any flea medication

No, they won't stay on you, even if they land on you. But they
of course, do bite people, just like they do animals. If you
find any flea bites, apply a repellant like Skin So Soft, by Avon or some topical spray from the pharmacy.
I wonder tho, why doesn't she have a flea collar on her cat? Most people who care about their pets welfare, keep them on
their cat or use the oil repellant treatments that ward off fleas.

Yes humans can get fleas but it is indeed unlikely that you will catcch them if you keep hygiene measures. And eve if you do - which you won't, but I say even if you do - don't panic, you will wash with a special shampoo and they will die. I had gotten them from a wig on Halloween, I washed and they were dead immediately. It is a better idea to de-flea the cat, though, buy a Frontline spot-on or spray at the pet store.

You can get bitten, certainly. They rarely set up housekeeping on humans who wash regularly, because they jump away.
The problem is if a few travel with you, jump into your carpet or furniture and start having babies. Long before you have to worry about that enough to start buying a bunch of chemicals, you will have tiny verrry itchy welts on your skin, probably below the knees.
Vaccume your carpet and furniture. Basic maintenance goes a long way. Those little critters are outside everyday and can hitch a ride anytime.

yup and if you have animals at home you may want to change out of the clothes you are wearing before going inside or immediatly when you walk in the door wash the clothes you are wearing and jump in the shower so you don't bring the fleas in with you to get on your animals and in your house.

Fleas will bite you, but they will not actually stay in your body which means they will not lay eggs on you. But if they are in your house you will see them jumping around and you will feel their very very very itchy bites... just the thought of fleas makes me itchy now!!
