What is that country's majority held religious belief? Are they primarily atheist, Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, etc?

intellectually advanced or technologically advanced? These are different.

I would consider Britain most intellectually advanced with 80% atheist.
This is also evident in the way they handle violence vs. sexuality.

Way more open sexually but stricter on violence as opposed to America where it's backwards. Lower crime rates and school shootings over there compared to here I believe because of this.

Make love not war!

Honestly, I'm unsure how an answer to your question can be made without some sort of bias in regards to that the people of any one country are more intellectual than another? If by the meaning of intellectual - you mean by definition that these people have intelligence, by the dictionary said to be "A person who is devoted to literary or scholarly pursuits".

Then theoretically you'd have to look at the country with the highest population with access to information as then theoretically they would have a higher number of "intellectual" people(s). That will create a conundrum, a dilemma, a head ache!

As to how "advanced" said intellectuals are would become irrelevant. But that's my opinion - thanks for listening.

If you are talking of "Thought", I am amazed at the ancient scriptures call "Vedic" literature. The Rishis were the "seers" and the thought systems they expounded are by far the most thought provoking I have found. Hinduism and Buddhism are direct descendants of these teachings. The country is India.

edit: I can't believe how many people are saying the US. I talk to more people every day who are like Forrest Gump than people who are not.
