I once had a Poodle also from a pound. He needed grooming every 6-8 weeks or so to keep him real nice, but in winter I did it less. If you let it go too long between groomings they can become tangled and don;t look that great.

Enjoy your new friend Poodles can be wonderful little dogs.

that is impossable to say. I am a professional groomer and it all depends on teh dog.
I have groomed several poodles and soe need to be done every 6-8 weeks and others only twice a year and ohters inbetween.
You will just have to wait and see.
Sorry I can't be anymore helpful but that's the way it is

I used to have a toy poodle and his hair grew back very quickly. Instead of paying alot of money to get him groomed, buy a trimmer (I used my husbands head shaver) and cut him yourself, then bathe him in baby shampoo. You may have to bathe him twice but, he will eventually come clean. I took my poodle to get groomed before and they have to tie a rope around the dogs neck, well my poodle jumped off the table and hung himself, he lived but all the blood vessels in his eyes bursted. I don't like groomers.

It grows back fairly fast. Poodles usually need to be clipped every 4-6 weeks to keep their coats in shape. The first clip might be extra short because his coat was in bad shape.

It should grow back pretty fast. I think poodles can look very cute with shorter hair. I'm glad your family decided to adopt from the pound. Thanks for saving a life. Have fun with your new pup. :)

It really varies from dog to dog. I have three mini schnauzers and a short haircut will last them about 3 months. You can give 2 or 3 weeks depending on the varience.

It will grow back slowly. Keep his ears cleaned once a month and feed him biscuits or dry food to keep his teeth clean, and he should stay sweet smelling (unless he gets into the garbage or somthing!) until he needs another trim.
