Hi and good morning....God, realistically speaking was 'Adam and Eve's parent. He created both man and woman according to the Book of Genesis. Now like any child, they make mistakes and don't always listen to what their parent tells them...right?..Eve was tempted by the serpent. Now it doesn't state if the Serpent was Satan or not, the Book of Genesis just states that the Serpent tempted Eve in eating the Forbidden Fruit. We assume that the Serpent was Satan but how do we not know it wasn't God Himself testing His children. God had His grace and mercy with His children, he just wanted them to obey His rules and His wishes but unfortunately Eve defied God and ate from the Forbidden Fruit then tempted Adam to do the same. God had forewarned them both but as children do, they don't always listen, so God had to punish them for disobeying His command which was not to eat from the Tree of Life. God sent Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden for punishment and had given Eve the punishment of baring children. Maybe this is was God's intention to get them out of the Garden of Eden to bare children and to prosper and populate the earth. It's just a thought. Have a wonderful weekend.

Grace and mercy for them? What about the rest of humanity, Adam and Eve get the choice to sin, but the rest of us don't. What about all other organisms - painful childbirth, death and decay were also part of Adam and Eve's punishment and this punishment was applied to all other organisms.

God did have grace and mercy with Adam and Eve. It was Satan who provided the temptaion. It was Satan that provoked Eve to eat the fruit. God only held his word with them. Yes they were punished, they were no longer immortals. They would die on earth, but through God they would return to the Tree of Life an live forever.

I really don't understand why people have such issues with this. If God had not given Adam and Eve free will and Satan had not tempted Eve then we would not exists becuase they would have been imortal. They would have never gained the knowledge of good and evil. They would have never realized that they were naked.

Eve disobeyed God, just as a child disobeys their parents. God gave us free will, it is our choice whether to sin or not. Why do people continue to listen to Satan and partake of his temptations? After sin entered the world Adam and Eve still had a choice of seeking God and returning to the Tree of Life or denying God and seek punishment and banishment from God forever. We still have that choice to today. We can seek God and return to the Tree of Life (Salvation) or we can deny him and seek punishment and banishment from God forever.

He only threw them out of the garden, and gave them the opportunity to learn how to care for themselves. It is on this plane of existance that we learn the quickest, and that is why we are here. Adam and Eve forgot they were spiritual beings having a human experience and not human being having a spiritual experience. As their parent, God instructed them in what they could do, and what they could not do. There was only one rule and they couldn't follow that. I think God showed them mercy and gave us what we needed the most. A life experience, which I believe we choose to have.
Blessed Be

It was a tough decisions but Adam and Eve made it they
had a choice live in ignorance and be cared for, a selfish
decision or sin and have pain, heart ache, starve if you don't
work and learn all that god knows through generation
after generation of this you are not becoming god but
you are learning what he knows what would you have chosen ? I think I am with Adam and Eve

Although Adam and Eve did transgress an important proscription in their mission (it had NOTHING to do with an apple), they were lavishly offered mercy, which they accepted, and rehabilitation. The book, Adam and Eve - A Tragic Love Story will answer ALL your questions about this amazing pair who were on Earth 37,000 years ago. In spite of its title, this is a serious and scholarly book and I highly recommend it.

Let's see He gave them their own world with all their needs met. He put them in charge. He only gave them one not to do and when they disobeyed He could have killed them and started over. Instead He showed them how to make clothing out of skin and sent them out to make more sinners. He continued to have personal communication with them and their children.
All of their needs were still met but they had to work for it.
If God has no mercy then why does this world keep spinning. He would have been within His rights to destroy mankind over and over again, but instead He allows the world to build false religions and actually deny His existence. His mercy is about used up though. Repent the end is near.

it is sad that he only gave them one commandment and they still couldn't follow it. he let them live. thought he did kick them out of paradise. unfortunately, the dispensation of grace hadn't begun until several thousand years later when God actually paid the price for their sin in the garden by taking on human flesh, dwelling among us, and becoming the sin sacrifice for us. that was his mercy and grace. why is it the people always blame God when they don't obey his rules?
