here's what a tattooist told me about white tattoos:
some tattooists will do white tattoos, but to be honest, they dont last well, they only work when they're done too heavy and almost scar the skin, and even then only on certain parts of the body. they disappear within a year as the pigment in your skin is darker than the white pigment of the ink, and either have to be redone - which can tear and scar the skin eventually - or will totally disappear.
i get asked occassionally about white tattoos, as people see photos in magazines - usually fresh tattoos just done and lit so that the white seems really bright - but this is always my response.

I guess that would kind of depend on how opaque the 'ink' is. I'm sure any white ink would show up to some degree, but the degree to which it would contract depends on the opacity mostly. If you're talking of tattoo ink - it's doable, but there won't be a great contrast since the ink is underneath your skin. You can try checking out photos online or in tattoo shops to get some ideas of how it would look.

I have a white tattoo on my wrist.
Apparently nobody else knows what they're talking about, because white ink tattoos show up better on people that are paler.
Also, white ink does tend to lose its brightness, and get somewhat dingey. Be prepared to get touchups if mild discoloration bothers you.
Once you get your first tattoo, you won't be scared of getting touchups. It's really not that bad, I promise.

Yes, white will show up on a "white girl". It's not the same pigmet at all. It is in fact like paper white so it should show up nicely. It may fade easily but that depends on where you get it, anything that gets sun regularly will fade much faster.
Good luck

haha. yes white will show up on a white girl. my first tattoo on my shoulder blade had a lot of white in the design. i got it done 3 years ago and it still has beautiful color. the white stayed nicely. remember to use sunscreen when you're out in the sun and cover your tattoo if you go into a tanning bed. hope i could help! :)
p.s. owner of 3 tattoos with a lot of white in them!

Yes the white will show up but it fades really quick. Especially when you get a tan the white fades, but expect to need a touchup in a few years.

it should be ok. I got a butterfly thats an american flag. The guy told me that it would be better to leave the white off because it will probably fade. But i'm pretty pale so I think it depends on you skin tone.

they dont look that bad. and dont be too nervous, yes it will hurt but it's not so bad after a while. try to focus on something in the room or start up a conversation with your artist to keep your mind off of the pain. good luck!

White shows up pretty brightly in a tattoo. It may fade when you are like 70 and "Dead" pale.
