Shun the world's worst-for-you dessert.
What's the number one food to avoid when your suffering from heartburn? Chocolate. The sweet confection deals heartburn sufferers a double whammy. It is nearly all fat, and it contains caffeine.(for chocolate addicts, however, here's good news: White chocolate, while just as fatty, has little caffeine.)

If you have acid reflux or bile reflux, chocolate is one of the foods you shouldn't eat. I don't know additive is in there that causes this, but its on my list of do not eat. Along with tomatoes, strawberries, oranges, etc. The list is long. But this is from my gastroenterologist. You can try taking an over the counter medicine prior to eating to help with this if you'd like to continue your chocolate binging.

It could be stress or anxiety - baked beans used to do the same to me. Also, if you're eating more than usual, that probably contributes too.
