Why do Christians call homosexuality an abomination but ignore the other verses where certain things are also called abomination:
Example
Proverbs 6:16 - 18 lists six abominations: "haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are swift in running to mischief."
Cheating in the market by using rigged weights (Deuteronomy 25:13-19
Remarrying the person one previously divorced (Deuteronomy 24:4)
Being proud in heart (Proverbs 16:5) and many more...

So Christians why do u single out homosexuality as abomination, and when u lie or eat pork do u think: Lord I’m doing an abomination, forgive me

Well first, there are plenty of homosexual Christians, and many hetrosexual Christians who do not consider homosexuality an abomination.

Those are stereotypes of course, and are really just as shallow as any bigoted statement.

Now like most stereotypes, there is some basis in fact for their existence, and particularly in the Catholic & Baptist religions, you are relatively correct in your assertions.

Many religious people of all faiths take the parts of their culture that support their personal feelings, and ignore the parts that don't. In fact, that's essentially human nature. How many of us speed, which is breaking the law, but don't murder? That's the same selective following you refer to in your question.

Homosexuality is not an "abomination" to Christians. It is "detestable" to God (see Leviticus 18:22; Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:18-32; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; and 1 Timothy 1:9-11). Why do Christians need to keep repeating it over and over and over? You all know these verses. Why don't you just stop asking? It's getting REALLY old now and some of us are tired of hearing you gripe about the same issues. If you have serious gender issue questions, go to the LGBT category. They'd be happy to help you with ANY questions you have. Christians don't need to "cite" anything about homosexuality either. Personally, I don't CARE what any of you do. YOU are the one who has to answer to God for your behaviour, not me. Your perspective is so asinine. You don't realize just how many people DO NOT care about anything that you do or say. Seriously. Enough already.

You are right about many things you mentioned, and you are wrong as well. The eating pork went out with Peter and the vision of clean and unclean. The list from proverbs is a list of things that God despise, not abominations, homosexuality is specifically called an "abomination" It is reaffirmed as such in the New Testament as well. Believe it or not. But you cant change what it says because you don't like it.

All items you've mentioned are indeed sinful and an abomination and Christians do "try" to please the Lord and walk a better life. However, Jesus calls us to be the LIGHT of the world and in so doing we are to POINT out as do the Ten Commandments, they can only POINT where there's sin in the world. Homosexuality has an increasing popularity as it becomes more acceptable, Christians should do their part in expressing the dangers of it, as well we should the other sins you had mentioned. If we fail to walk well we displease the Lord, if we fail to tell people, who practice sin, the error of their ways, we displease the Lord, that's why Christians speak.

As a way of life for the general population, homosexual behavior has historically not been highly tolerated in most societies and cruelly repressed until the society became distracted with its downfall and it became widely practiced and tolerated, although some cultures, usually tribal, have allowed one, say a healer, to openly be homosexual and take a mate.

Not that what you've pointed out isn't accurate, but I think it's fairer to recognize that homosexuality is an issue with far more than Christians/Christianity.

"Christians why do u single out homosexuality as abomination"

Because it is the homosexual community trying to nullify God's Word by saying that it is OK.

I don't hear anyone out there chanting that they were born with haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, and feet that are swift in running to mischief.

Remember, if the Christian truly hated homosexuals, they would keep the message of salvation to themselves, not try to change them, and let them go on their merry way to destruction. But because we care, we take the slings and arrows of 90% of the media and public to speak the truth.

I assume you know what a test it presently.
Just because a person takes a test; does not mean they past the test.
One test for 'Christians'; defining the 'old testament' as Genesis-Malachi. The scriptural answer is the 'old testament' is the law of Moses (synonym 2 Cor. 3:13-14. (Can one have the law of Moses before Moses is born)?
I tend to agree with you; just be aware that many references given above (from Deut.) were part of the Mosaic law. (The Mosaic law was done away; the concept is 'binding' if it is reauthorized in the new law).

The passages listed are all from the Old Testament and are just a few of the strict Levitical laws that God gave to the Jews. These, along with sacrifices at the altar were to remind them of the coming of Christ. Because Christ came and made the ultimate sacrifice at the cross these no longer were part of worship. The early Christians worshipped much differently.

Homosexuality is clearly talked about in the New Testament, along with many other sins that have not changed either.

Because they are not taught rightly. They get a pet peeve sin and start biting people with it. I am a Christian too, but I try very hard to get the message of Romans 3 across to them. Some people are just taught poorly, and have been that way for so long that they cannot break their habits often.

What you are describing is the Law of Moses. And we are not under the Law of Moses. But people are told that they have to try. The Bible that I read shows me that there is not trying, there's only "Perfectly do all of the Laws of Moses" , or " The Just shall live by Faith". It's one or the other when it comes to making peace with God.

We don't call it an abomination, GOD does!! It is in the Bible!! The defintion of abomination is: Something Loathsome; Wickedness. Anything that is against the laws of the God is considered an abomination. You're reading mostly from the OLD TESTAMENT, which is BEFORE Jesus came to save us from our sins. We are all sinners, therefore...this is why God sent his only Son Jesus to die on the cross to pay the debt in full for the sins of the world! The Only thing that we have to do in order to receive salvation is accept the fact that Jesus did die on the cross at calvary and profess with thy mouth that HE is the Son of God and the Savior of the world. If you continue to sin instead of repenting your sin, then you're not really saved in your heart. Therefore, you continue to deny God and His laws...so in turn you are sentenced to face God on the day of judgement when the rapture takes place. If one is not truly saved, this will mean spiritual death...therefore, eternal damnation in Hell will be in order. This is just to explain to you what will happen if one truly doesn't accept Christ as their savior.
