One of the two hoses leading into the heater core by the brake master cylinder has a leak. Am I seeing it wrong or is the only way to replace this hose involve taking off the intake manifold?

no both heater hoses are easy to replace just use a 1/4" drive nut driver handle and a 1/4" drive flex socket size 6mm and 1/4" extensions as required. if you replace the clamps the new size will be 8mm - 5/16" use a SHARP single edge razor blade to remove old hose[s] from heater piping,

defenitly do not have to take the intake off. Just go btween the 3 and 4 intake manifold runners with a 7mm swivel socket and nut driver with extension. The previous post is incorrect the hose clamp nut size is 7mm, umless they have been replaced. It's not really a fun job but very dueable.

actually they make an insert, you cut the hose in half where the hole is, insert the plastic tube to the now 2 hoses and join them together and use the hose clamps to keep everything tight so it wont blow off,,
