Why do so many commercials make people feel embarrassed about littering?

They're trying to get your attention (apparently succeeded in your case) that it's not the right thing to do.

We live in the north woods and in my husbands spare time (not much) he will go out and remove litter from the side's of the roads. We live and use the side roads to get to get to the major highways which are also littered. You would be surprise the litter/trash he finds. Instead of tacking their trash/garbage to the sights provided, They rather have other people clean up after them or use other people's trash bins.

If they get caught and given a fine, they're the first ones who cry the loudest. They're clueless about keeping the environment clean. They'd rather chop down a healthy tree and let it sit there instead of looking at it out their front window. These same people don't get embarrassed, they just throw another beer can out the window.

That's the meaning for the commercials you see on TV or hear on the radio. While they're lessening to these
commercials and having a good old time they're throwing (again) another bottle out their car window to see how far they can throw it.

The same story goes on and on. To think, this our future along with our kids.

I think that was the intention. People used to think nothing of littering. The commercials helped stop that.

You should be embarrassed when you litter because it is horrible for the environment and everything in it, even people. Littering is awful and people need to realize what it does to our planet. So next time, think before you toss.

Because littering is wrong. The world isn't people's personal trash. I'm no big environmentalist or anything, but I can see that it is wrong to litter.

could it have anything to do with the fact that littering is incredibly bad for the enviornment? Is bad for little woodland creatures? Makes nature look ugly? and is downright disgusting? You'd be shocked to learn how many people do not feel like God put them on earth to pick up other people's trash, but still don't want to live in or bring up children in a world that's filthy!

Because if you can't hang onto your trash for a few extra minutes until you reach a trash can and feel entitled to make a mess of someone else's habitat, you should be embarassed.
