Pop or Coke (even though I drink Caffeine free Diet Coke) People often call it Coke no matter what brand it is.

I was raised in the Pacific Northwest, but family comes from various parts of the south. It really just depends on your upbringing. In Seattle and Portland, I've heard both pop and soda. Down south I've heard soda, soder, sodapop, sugarwater, sugawatta, coke, pepsi and let's not forget RC, which is where the latter started. When in Russia, heard sodapop many times and up north in most of Canada, pop.

I grew up calling it pop in Indiana. But when I moved to Connecticut people called it soda. I liked soda better, so now I call it soda.

Up here in the Great White North, it's pop. That is unless you are actually drinking Coca-Cola, in which case it's coke.
