I have found a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee for about $4,000. It doesnt need any work, has sunroof, premium audio package, leather, the only problem is that it has 140,000 miles on it. If there are any jeep owners out there who could give some input, that would be great! Thank you!!!

There are a couple things to think about here. $4000 is really about average for that year and mileage. Jeep drivetrains can handle a lot of mileage if taken care of. However, because it's a Jeep you will quickly realize that the rest of it will fall apart around you. I still own a Cherokee and know many people that do as well. In all my jeeping years I've never known one that ran flawlessly and if someone says it does run flawlessly then they've never driven a reliable car.

If you really want a jeep then this isn't a bad deal at all. If mostly highway miles that engine will be in much better shape than a similar jeep with half that in the city. However, if you just want a daily driver and want the versatility of an SUV...look at different companies. If you think Jeeps are dependable you should take a quick trip to the local junk yard and see how many junked jeeps there are and think again.

as long as you don't get loopy with elevate or tires, a JK (2007-11) wrangler would desire to do wonderful on the line. It won't get tremendous gasoline mileage and a delicate genuine will make some noise, regardless of if it should not be the on the spot-rollover-dying-catch that some human beings at here make Jeeps out to be. you already be conscious of the thank you to cope with a truck. rigidity the Jeep like a truck (now not a porsche) and you will do merely wonderful. "terrible" Jeep reviews have a tendency to be at once on the subject of the "nut" in the back of the wheel.

There's different angles to think about. Someone put on about 20,000 miles a year. Can you see the service records? It should show NO LESS than 4 oils changes per year. If they had it serviced at least by every 5000 miles. Hopefully it was highway miles. In 7 years, it should of had at least 27 oil changes. Then move on to tranny servicing. Sounds like it has good potential.

127,000 on our '99. Have only had tie rod ends replaced - about $100. Engine and transmission are in great shape, some minor leaks here and there from the drivetrain - transfer case and front diff. The rear differential was rebuilt years ago under warranty. Brake rotor issues until we replaced the factory parts with aftermarket. Overall, it has been a good vehicle.

I think that is a fair price for that many miles.Jeeps are usually good trucks and can run for a long time. Before having any major problems.I have a 88 cherokee with 300,000 miles on it that runs excellent. And all we have ever done is normal up keep.Oil changes, tune ups, ect,.

I think you could do much better with 4000$. The cost of ownership on that vehicle, especially used, will be quite high. Even if it doesn't NEED any work now, with that kind of mileage it probably could USE some maintenance, and will NEED some very soon and quite regularly after that.

that is a lot of miles for that old of a car. Well it said that every year you should only put at max 15,000 miles on a car. this car has 35,000 miles over. If he used it on the highway a lot then I say it is a little better, but I think you could get the price dropped.

TOO MUCH MILEAGE. UNLESS YOU KNOW THE OWNER. IF YOU GET IT FOR LESS MONEY THEN BUY IT. I MEAN LIKE 2000 DOLLARS LESS. AT THIS MILEAGE THE TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE PARTS AND FRONT END PARTS START TO SHOW SIGNS OF WEAR AND TEAR. CHECK OUT THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE TOO. TIRES AND CONDITION OF THE VEHICLE. THERE ARE PLENTY OF 2000 JEEPS OUT THERE FOR LESS MONEY AND LOWER MILEAGE. CHECK IT OUT ON CRAIGSLIST.COM AND GO TO YOUR STATE AND CITY.
