sanctuary to criminal trespassers should have their tax exempt status revoked and suffer severe penalties? Did you know that now they are not just sheltering individuals that should be deported, but now the churches are working with lawyers and leftists groups in a concerted effort.

Wasn't it Jesus that said "give onto Cesar what is Cesar's, and give unto God what is God's? Churches have no business in political matters. They should stick to spreading God's word, and to prevent pastors from raping children

Yes - and the pastor should be charged criminally.

What I don't understand is how people still would support a church that does something like this. All the polls clearly show that the overwhelming majority of us are ticked off about illegals and want them gone. I'm catholic but I will never give another cent to the church. After the priest scandal I was still there for them but with their support of illegals I'm done.

This shouldn't even be an issue. Churches don't have the legal authority to give people sanctuary in America. If a criminal hides in a church, the cops should enter the church and drag the criminal out. It's the moron cops who create the problem by not being willing to enforce the law.

I agree! The church has no business getting involved.

I say take away their tax exempt status and charge them with harboring a fugitive.

This woman is a criminal and I can't understand why the church and other legal citizens are supporting her.

No I don't think they should lose their status as a church but I DO think that whoever in the church gave her permission to stay there and helped her should be charged with aiding and abetting and do some serious jail time. It was that individual who broke the law, not the church, and they should be held personally responsible for their crime.

I think Churches, Mosques, Temples, Etc. should be taxed anyway.

But yes, they are entering a political arena by giving sanctuary and should be taxed.

But the Government does not have the guts to go after them.

Yes, I do think so...and I think that they Clergy who are aiding and abetting criminal behavior should be sentenced also. What next? Will murderers be given "Sanctuary" for their crimes, if they camp out at a church? This isn't the "Highlander" movie. That lady who was an illegal alien DESTROYED a persons life by stealing an ID...and we are just suppose to say, "Oh, you are in a church...you are safe?!?" That is F*CK*D up IMO!

EDIT: Cosmo, you know that how? Ok, since you have nothing to back it up, I thought so!
