Ooo if you go to allrecipes.com, they actually have a cookbook (that you can look at and/or download in pdf format) exactly for that. I just found it a few days ago :]

I am not going to write a book and make you read a ton of cool ideas...I'll show you! There is this company that makes Eco friendly lunch boxes, that are also rather convenient. They have a photo gallery to give you different ideas about different foods that you can put into the lunch box. You don't really need recipes you can take them right from the picture (when you put your mouse over the picture it will tell you the contents of the box) or just gather inspiration!!
Your child will have a lunch box that every kid will envy--
[ for some reason the link won't come up and cuts off at .com/laptop. The rest is .com/laptoplunchphotos.html ]

One great idea that I have never thought of is to take food that is to be hot.....chicken nuggets, french fries, things like that and cook them in the microwave the morning before they go to school and then put them into a thermos. This keeps them hot until lunch time and that along with a fruit cup or pudding is a great and healthy lunch for kids. If I did this I would probably send a little tub of ketchup for them that they could throw away when they were done.....you can buy these at any warehouse store such as Sams Club

-Turkey and cheese on wheat bread. You can even omit the bread and just roll the cheese up into the turkey...That may be more fun for them!
-A tupperware of veggies with a small container of dip (a great way to get kids to eat their veggies!)
-Peanut butter and jelly on Wonder Bread is always a great classic or you can make it with crackers instead
-Sliced up fruit in a container. Sometimes I put strawberries with a little bit of sugar to dip in ....takes the bitterness away...
-A thermos full of some homemade soup for a rainy day. That always feels good!
-A baggie of pretzles with some peanut butter to dip in
-Yogurt with some granola
Hope these ideas help!
