Hi since where such a big place it depends on where you are planning to go as to what the weather will be like head to this website for the weather www.weatherzone.com.au.
Australia can be a very romantic place to visit I live in North Queensland in a city called Cairns and there are heaps of romantic things to do
Visit the Great Barrier Reef
Stay at an island resort
Go to the rainforest
Visit Australian zoo's (see Koala's, crocodiles, kangaroos etc)
the list goes on though it is hot when you are planning to come on average it is 31 during the day and about 25 at night. Down south it's colder so you can go to wineries etc, Melbourne has some of the best shopping and restaurants in Australia. Perth is beautiful to visit I went there for my honeymoon. Truly the list is endless Australia is a beautiful country with heaps to see and do. It depends what you wanted to do.

It depends on where you are in Australia. For the most part much of the country is on high bushfire alert due to heatwave conditions. The temperatures have been soaring well past the 40C (100F in the old money) around much of the country. The top end of Australia is also well into cyclone (thats a hurricane / typhoon in northern hemisphere terms) season. Currently cyclone Narelle (category 3, soon to be category 4) is slowly heading south towards the North Western Australian coast. That should bring a cool change and some rain to that part of this sunburnt country.

Romantic? Ehmm...who are you coming with?

The weather during January - December? Sorry, love - depends on which part of the country you'll be in. That is Summer though, so the further north you go, the hotter and muggier it'll get.

We could probably tell you about parts of Australia, but need more information....it's a big, big place.

We Australians don't go much on romanticism. it is mostly BS in our opinion. Since Australia is roughly the size of the continental US it experiences a variety of weather at any moment. At the present there are floods in Queensland but the drought in southern New South Wales continues. Here the maximum temperature was 18C today, but in other parts of the country it was 30C.
