Whatever you decide, I would advise booking it right now. Prices and availability are nuts around that time of year if you wait. Some nice places on Hotel-Alternatives.com...

The Belvedere Hotel 48th St, 8th Ave 10/10
Spacious rooms, So you'd have enough room to put a cot in!
And baby equipment.
It is just 5 mins away from Times Square, 7 Mins From Central Park and about 10 mins From The Rockefeller Center!
It is also close to a place called Hells Row, with many a restaurants to choose from! They are all very good.
It may seem in a noisy location, but it actually isn't! It's in a quiet little street! Which is great!
I went in July and i loved it! The hotel was super, the staff ever so helpful.
It has computers, if you take a lap top you can use the wireless internet for free! Shop, Cafe, Resturant, Gym.
It is clean, tide, spacious rooms! Couldn't fault it. The lifts were sometimes a little slow, but only when everyone wanted to eat.
Otherwise 10/10 xx
Also, when i went there wasn't any trash on the street!
I come from the UK & London is in a worse state Then NY!

It depends on your price range. We always stay at the Mariott Marquis. Its very nice and easy to get to the subway and plenty of resturants.

Any that would supply an air purifier , and air freshener , it smells so bad in Manhattan with the smog ,and garbage everywhere , I am used to fresh ,clean, smog free air , I went there last year ,and the odor in the air reminds me of a landfill
