People have dreams. Haven't you ever had a dream? Don't you think that your mind would run wild if you thought you were in immediate danger of dying? Nothing magical. Not in any way proof of an after life.

I laughed at the article when I read it earlier today.

They have developed virtual glasses which can give you an "out of the body" experience, and then present that in the article as if it is an explaination for all the millions who have had such experiences throughout recorded history.

So where were the people in the Middle Ages and earlier hiding their X-Boxes when they had the experiences?

To develop a virtual reality that creates such a sensation is neat, and will be cool for future games, etc. But don't present it as if it is the scientific answer to the out of the body experience.

I've had lots of out of body experiences due to a dissociative disorder. It would be really cool and not so scary to be able to do it when I want, especially playing video games!
