Ok. So why does he need to test our faith? Sounds a bit insecure.

Not that I have any. At least, not in your god.

I don't really see a question here. However, people suffer for many reason, tests of faith are one and the result of sin being another. Some people actually prosper as a test of faith to see if they will continue to place their faith in Him or in the successes that they have. The only comfort to truly be drawn from this is that all things will work together for good to those who love the Lord. Why is it harder for a rich man to get into heaven than for a camel to go through the eye of a needle? Because the wealthy tend to place their faith in their wealth and not in God, even if they do remember to thank Him for their bounty. In all things we must continue to put Him first and foremost in our lives or He becomes nothing to us at all.

personally i think we suffer to find out who we, and to find humility. the path to heaven is full of blood and quicksand and the suffering helps us bring to realization the true joys to life and not materialistic temptations in the world. if you appreciate the small things in life then we will never run out of things to make us happy. you follow your faith in God through the suffering then you will find your faith as strong as ever and answers to the suffering. however if you turn your back on God and quite believing in him because of your suffering then that kind of gets into a hypocritical state of beliefs and faith. it is more of a challenge to have faith when you are suffering than if you just had an easy life... which is impossible for people to have...put you can have a great life with the appreciation of everything around you.

Oh well, if the bible says it then the illogical impossibility of an all-powerful, all-knowing and all-loving god must be a fallacy.

The Bible also says that God is a vengeful god. Maybe it is just that he is still mad at us for building that tower.

Or maybe the bible is an inconsistent load of stories made up by nomadic bronze age sheep herders.

Suffering is part of the universal penalty for sin that also includes death.

Successfully serving a sentence often results in rehabilitation.

With Christ, it results in salvation.

If God is omipotent, wouldn't He already KNOW our faith to the core? So why would he test it if he knows the answer?

Don't expect the unbelievers to understand the purpose of suffering...they simply can't do ANYTHING but question God.....They think they can blame God for suffering....they haven't yet realized that suffering is a part of this fallen world.

"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the traditions of men, after the principles of the world, and not after Christ". - (Col. 2:8)

It is not a virtuous or a good thing to suffer.

One who has surrendered to what is...or God...does not suffer.
