Forget medication. Your mind is understimulated. Go out and get some exercise -- something that will stimulate your mind, not walking a treadmill staring at a wall. In the calm after cardio exercise, try meditation.

Or start listening to Bobby McFerrin.

Are you being treated for the anxiety disorder? If not you should if the disorder is disrupting your life. Do you worry just because you have lived with mom all your life & you have seen her that way, so you picked up her habit of worrying. Excessive worrying may lead to obsessive compulsive disorders. Talk to a professional on anxiety disorders they can really help a lot.

I've suffered with anxiety disorder for years. For me, keeping myself busy is the only thing that has worked. When i'm idle, i jusy go nuts obsessing about everything. Find things that you enjoy doing, when you're stressed, do them! It's hard to worry when you're having fun!!! Talking to someone when you're anxious really helps too ( if you're lucky enough to have someone like that ). Music helps me too. I put in a good CD and crank it up!!!!!!!!! You just have to learn some good coping skills that work for you. I've learned over the years that worrying about things really gets you absolutely nowhere!!!! Good luck :-)
